Chicago's own! The original Lillies Q was down the street from my apartment right after I graduated from DePaul. Incredible tritip there.

My go-to store brand is Lillies Q. Their Carolina and Hot Smoky sauces are my favorite, but I’m interested in trying their Easter North Carolina sauce as well.

I don't know why the BBQ hate is so strong here. I'm not sure if it's that people think it's cool to shit on good food or they're just snobs who can't be pleased, but I've had the bbq at green Street, Chicago culinary kitchen, and Lillies Q and I thought it was great. As a home smoker yeah of course it's expensive and you could always comment on how you'd do something different but that could be applied to literally any restaurant. I have had legitimately bad BBQ, and it was from some place in Crystal Lake that I'm adamant didn't season the pork before smoking it, it was so bland. Nobody is trying to convince you that it's better than some hole in the wall Texas joint or whatever, but to say there is no good bbq in the city is plain nonsense.

Agree with that! Lillies Q has the best Nashville hot and buffalo imo

Revolution and Maplewood are my top 2. Been meaning to get to Maplewood Brewery for a while now. Cruz Blanca is a fun spot in West Loop. District BrewYards has 4 breweries in a pour-your-own style spot. Lillies Q bbq joint in the place and a great patio. Semi pricey and also West Loop.

Pearls in Edgewater and Toons on Southport and Byron, have great ribs. Further south you want Smoque and Lillies Q.

4 nights in Chicago in early June - how do my options look?

Mid 20s male coming from London. I will likely be travelling alone. Produced a list of places that I could go and see, as well as restaurants I could potentially go to depending on where I am in the city. I am also hoping that the Bucks make it to the final so that I can do a day trip in Milwaukee! Anything that is obviously missing? I would absolutely love to embrace the nature and go on some day trails. Not as interested in art/museums, but I do want to overeat and be as active as possible! **Places to see** * Millenium Park * Magnificent Mile * River architecture tour * Oak Street Beach * Adler Planetarium (views of the city) * Lincoln Park including zoo * Green City market * Ride a bike to Promontory Point **Restaurants** * Tanta (Peruvian) * Lou Malnati’

https://chicago.eater.com/maps/best-barbecue-chicago-restaurants This is a pretty good list. Smoque is my favorite place, but not my favorite ribs. Their sauce and brisket are top tier IMO. Is probably my favorite restaurant in Chicago. If you can find some nice weather, hit up Lillies Q at District Brew yards. Great outdoor location, make sure you get the grits on the side too. They made me start liking grits. The article describes style of bbq too for a lot of the places which can help your search as folks often strongly prefer one style vs others. I miss Fat Willys, RIP. Enjoy your search!

First off everyone I’m Derek aka cooknight! I wanted to start giving back to the community that has given me so many food recs!! So I’m gonna start doing reviews/suggestions here! For less reading I’ll make videos and post more pics on my insta & tiktok both @imcooknight. GREEN STREET MEATS Tried: Pulled pork sandwich, Elote, Chopped brisket, chili, banana pudding, and macaroni salad Hardly a hidden gem, but never made my way over. Till Friday that’s is, and I’ll be damed if the hype isn’t a bit warranted. I still might prefer Lillies Q sweet sauce, but the vinegar sauce, my lord really surprised me! Banana pudding was a bit underwhelming. Could perhaps be due to everything else being out the park. Glad we go two elotes too. Brisket would be my go to next time. ESTRELLA NEGRA Tr

Lillies Q has great smoked wings. The original location closed so can’t vouch for the new ones however. https://lilliesq.com/pages/restaurants

Love the lillies q sauce. The restaurant is bomb too!! How is the Carolina gold with beef? I always do the mustard based sauces with pork, not beef.

I have made Chicago baskets and packages for friends; here are a few things that were in them! I am in the burbs but you can get a lot of these things in multiple places around town...I am on mobile so can't link, but I will tell you where I have found various products! Frango mints, duh (Marshall Fields, er, Macys) Vosges chocolate (they have their own stores, or find at Whole Foods etc) Lillies Q sauce (I have bought at Standard Market) Milk and Honey granola, especially the Rick Bayless edition (Whole Foods, Marianos etc) Rare Bird preserves (I got at Standard Mkt) Terry's Toffee ("") Intelligentsia coffee (Whole Foods and others) Metropolis coffee (") Halfwit coffee (Standard Mkt I think) Grown Up Kids Stuff dessert toppings (I have bought it at Andersonville galleria but the
