Babygold barbecue here in Berwyn (and also at the Old Post Office now) is pretty good.

Sawa's Old Warsaw in Broadview. It's worth going in the evening just to look at the sign. (And the food's good too!) Babygold Barbecue in Berwyn is the best barbecue I've had in Chicago. Also in Berwyn is Novi's Beef, which is *really* good. I really like their giardiniera. Al-Bawadi Grill in Bridgeview has the best falafel in Chicagoland and it's not close. Golden Steer (now Elba's Golden Steer - the owner retired and sold it to one of the workers) is a great little old-school steakhouse. It's not Morton's - but you're not paying Morton prices, either.

I came here from Georgia. My impression of Chicago barbecue has been...not great. That said, Babygold Barbecue in Berwyn is actually pretty good. It's attached to a music venue, Fitzgerald's, which usually has some great blues/jazz/Americana/something else act playing.

For barbecue, the best place I've found is a spot here in Berwyn called Babygold Barbecue. It's attached to a music venue called Fitzgerald's, and I really can't recommend catching a show there if you can. There is also Milt's, a kosher barbecue place in Lakeview. I haven't been myself, but I've heard good things.
